Developments with Hull technologyThe technology team that is made up of technicians and scientists from the highly technical world of polymers, monomers and fibres has been working hard for some time now in seeking out a breakthrough for hull technology has finally arrived. Sometimes the breakthroughs are coming in many different guises and some are from the most unexpected and unpredicted ways, some were even right out of the blue.

The basic and honest truth about hull technology is not really surrounded in secrecy and in many ways is not really a myth, as the reality is that designers have in general two major obstacles to overcome. They vary in many ways quite dramatically and range from strength of structure through to shape and overall efficiency. The strength of the hull is in many ways the simple one to explain as it really is quite simply what it says on the tin. It’s focussed directly about rigidity and the suitability to perform to the very maximum potential to provide the consumer with a product of quality and with a long lasting vehicle but as I have reported previously, there are still many so called “professional built craft” to which have declared their admission of a weakness in the structure by re-enforcing the failure areas or weak spots with stick on re-enforcement patches similar to a Band Aid. This cheap method of masking over the product not only spoil the whole aesthetic look of the product but also have very little if any overall beneficial effect on the ability to provide strength, as the real issue and problem is that the whole shape provides for a too far obtrusive collision point that is simply masking over the failure area in order to provide a stronger impact resistance which is not true. The only real problem solver is a total re-shape of the structure in order to eradicate and remove the problem at manufacture process. “After all”, a larger crash bar on the front of a vehicle does not prevent a crash, it simply provides a bigger target area in which to make contact with.

There are lots of things to consider before designing any hull and this includes Hoverpod and once again those questions posed are quite varied and wide but in almost all general terms one should always consider what the exact application and purpose of the craft is going to be designed to achieve. Is the purpose or use a for a “Grand Touring Vehicle” or for a multipurpose use and will the product require some more specialist modification treatment for the specialist applications such as racing. Whilst most hovercraft are able to travel at rapid speeds when required to do so, the shape of the hull can create issues for racing where they are of benefit for long distance travel such as a GT model.

Formula Hoverpod Racing Information and Guide

Well, it was all go again at the Malaysian Grand Prix and whilst there was lots of drama ad excitement, I don’t suppose there were too many surprises when Red Bull who are the dominant force in recent years of F1 Motor Car Racing. Sebastian Vettel was the undisputed winner in the car he called “Kinky Kyle”. There is a lot of speculation surrounding the why Sebastian names his cars varying from superstition to love of the car, all I can confirm is that he called it Kinky Kyle as it had a small and compact rear end and to that end you can make your own mind up about the interpretation of “small rear end”.

This weekend follows on from the Malaysian GP and stays within the confines of the Tiger Economy and sees the China GP enter the fray. Once again weather is a major factor of the circuit and track temperature is a key factor and despite all the science involved, it would not be unfair to say an awful lot of guess work is also involved which adds to the excitement. In both of these circuits a similar and very testing problem shows it’s all too common face, when it rains it simply pours and the skills of both driver a technical team are tested to their limits and although the all new Pirelli tyres are relatively new to the F1GP, they have been rigorously tested but as yet have to be proven in application which means a degree of caution for the drivers.

The Formula Hoverpod Racing in many ways differs in skills and process as we are not so effected by the weather, in fact it could be argued that a change in the weather creates a different and more testing strategy for the F1 Hoverpod Racing Pilots and simply adds to the fun. Unlike most motor sports, the Formula Hoverpod Racing series is rarely if ever effected by changes in climate and as such a 52 week, 365 day season exists and as such the arena of change is only effected by the conditions on the day and sometime may change within seconds.

As a Hoverpod travels in a unique and timely manner across almost any surface, this creates a unique platform for excitement and fun for all those who enjoy the thrills of Motor Sport and Formula Hoverpod Racing is no exception to the rule of fast action, where we set ourselves apart from the pack is by close contact racing at all levels and for all the family. The Formula Hoverpod Racing circuit can be as diverse as a frozen lake to a strip of tarmac, a sandy beach or a muddy shore is no obstacle for the Hoverpod, it is simply a surface of change in which the Hoverpod will excel when put to the challenge and will never disappoint when the obstacle where other vehicles are unable to cope are simply an opportunity of fun for the Formula Hoverpod Racing Team.
